Healing Through Art Days
The mental health of most Black people is negatively affected by the lack of community, and having to navigate daily incidents of racism and micro-aggressions on a daily basis. The goal of Healing Through Art Days is to curate a safer healing space for Black people to help alleviate social isolation, and symptoms of Seasonal Affective Disorder by creating a communal space where people can come and engage in self and communal healing once a month from January to June 2022.
To reduce any financial barriers that might hinder people from participating, the BHC team will provide the space, snacks, and art materials for people to use throughout the day. We will also provide active listening for the participants.
These past two years have made it abundantly clear that Black liberation necessities Black healing and the Black Healing Centre hopes to be at the forefront of implementing transformative-healing frameworks for our communities.
Everyone regardless of their artistic abilities is encouraged to come and explore whatever kind of art that they would like to create in community.
